I'm looking into Nike free app but any other suggestions would be appreciated.įor a free running app ASICS Runkeeper was my go to all the time. I understand Americans use this odd system but why the hell would I want updates based on miles while running a 10-kilometre run? Last year I used Mapmyrun but got frustrated with it using miles instead of kilometres while set to a 10k run. I will be switching at the end of the year but are all free apps going to give me similar problems? I would love to hear your opinions on running apps and free vs paid services. I have missed a couple of tight finishes due to this problem. When it happens I have to quickly hit another area of the app to get the finish run button back and stop my time. This extremely important button has no reason to disappear. I don't need this feature and the buttons are so small that I can easily see the map anyway. I'm running not exploring and know where I'm going. Why would I want to look at the map when I'm running? I'm not lost and trying to navigate in a foreign city. The buttons are on top of the map and if you accidentally miss pressing the "Finish" button, like you know when you're running and not so accurate, it will hide the button thinking you want an unobstructed view of the map in the background instead. The free version has you pressing the "finish" button instead of automatically stopping once you reached a set goal. The Adidas app also has really poorly designed buttons that have made me mess up personal best timing that I'm trying to get down to the second. How can this be so bad? A running app that can't accurately measure distance? Is anyone else having problems with this app or this problem with other apps? Is it because I'm using the free version or maybe a GPS problem? My phone is new and handles all other GPS applications totally fine. The difference can sometimes be up to 1k apart. Every time the app has me finishing at a different place even though I start at my front door every time. Not a single time can it decided where the finish line is. I run the same 10k route 4 to 5 times a week. I like to brag about my total running distance at the end of every year so try to keep my logs in one app. I've already logged so many kilometres is the only reason I continue to use it. I only have the free version but with all its problems there is no way I would pay for this service. I have been using the Adidas running app to track my running this year.
